Get ready for an MAAC battle as the Iona Gaels and the Niagara Purple Eagles will face off at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Hynes Athletics Center. Iona is out to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
While not quite a landslide, the game between the Gaels and the Manhattan Jaspers on Friday was still a pretty decisive one as Iona wrapped it up with an 88-76 win at home.
Meanwhile, Niagara picked up a 68-58 victory over the Canisius Golden Griffins on Thursday.
Iona didn’t have too much breathing room in their contest with Niagara when the two teams previously met in March of last year, but they still walked away with a 70-64 victory. Iona’s victory shoved the Purple Eagles out of the playoffs, so they have a target on their back.
