Slow Third Quarter Too Much for Devils to Overcome

CARLISLE, Pa. – The Dickinson women’s basketball team was outscored 11-5 in the third period to watch a 27-27 halftime time fall by the wayside as the visiting Haverford College Fords went on to earn a 55-47 Centennial Conference win on Saturday afternoon at the Kline Center. Jennifer Kremp and Gina Neigel led the Red and Black in scoring with 16 and 13 respectively. 

The Fords grabbed the early 2-0 lead with an Ally Landau layup, but DC answered back immediately with consecutive Kremp triples making it 6-2 with 2:15 gone. Jumpers from Kate Montgomery and Neigel stretched the home lead to 10-4 just under five minutes left. A Kremp three was the only bright spot for the Devils during a 13-3 Haverford charge to take a 17-13 advantage with 26-ticks to go. Jenna Weinstein hit a running layup at the horn to bring it 17-15 after one. 

Neigel finished off two tough layups and Mia Kolb added a foul shot to cap a 5-0 Devils run over the opening 4:20 of the second to reclaim a 20-17…
