Alperen Sengun upgraded to questionable against San Antonio Spurs

Houston Rockets rookie Alperen Sengun has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs. Sengun has been sidelined with a right ankle sprain he suffered on New Year’s Eve in a loss to the Miami Heat. He began his rehabilitation regiment last Friday, working with assistant coach John Lucas after practice to help regain some mobility by doing defensive slides and dribbling drills.

“I’m feeling better compared to the first week,” Sengun said on Saturday after going through a rigorous workout. “I’m improving my mobility moves also. It’s better now. We started two days ago. More quick actions.”

Sengun, who was selected at No. 16 overall in the first round of the 2021 NBA draft, has averaged 9.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists this season and has become a vital part of the rotation for Rockets head coach Stephen Silas.
