James Harden will not play on Monday in Portland against the Trail Blazers after hyperextending his left knee, the team announced.

Harden was on the floor during overtime on Sunday afternoon in the Nets’ 121-119 win over the San Antonio Spurs, so when exactly Harden suffered the injury is unknown, as is the severity of the injury.

If Harden needs to miss extended time, it would obviously be a big blow. Harden has turned his season around, getting back to his old self after struggling early.

Since Christmas Day, Harden is averaging 27.6 points on 45.0 percent shooting. He’s also dishing out 10.1 assists and grabbing 8.6 rebounds per game since Dec. 25.
