VanVleet scores 30-plus points for 3rd consecutive game as Raptors blow out Spurs

Fred VanVleet scored 33 points to lead the Toronto Raptors to a 129-104 win over the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night in Toronto.

VanVleet went over the 30-point mark for a third straight game as Toronto (17-17) captured a third consecutive victory. The Raptors reached the .500 mark for the first time since Nov. 13 when they were 7-7.

San Antonio (14-22) lost its fourth straight game.

VanVleet went 7-for-14 from beyond the three-point arc. He has scored 31, 35 and 33 points in the three wins before a near-empty Scotiabank Arena because of Ontario’s tightened COVID-19 restrictions.

All five Toronto starters hit double figures.

Pascal Siakam enjoyed a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Gary Trent Jr. added 21 points while OG Anunoby scored 14 and rookie Scottie Barnes chipped in 11.

Justin Champagnie came off the bench to score 14 points for the Raptors.
