IMMACULATA, Pa. — The Moravian University women’s basketball team jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and led at the end of the first quarter; however, the Greyhounds ended up falling to host Immaculata University, 69-53, in non-conference action Wednesday.
How It Happened
The Hounds opened the scoring with a jumper from senior forward Kayla Yoegel, and junior guard Morgan Amy followed with a three-pointer for a 5-0 lead. Junior forward Emily Markowski gave the Blue and Grey their largest lead of the contest at 9-3 with a lay-up at the 4:32 mark while junior guard Madison Amy hit a jumper to beat the buzzer at the end of the first quarter as Moravian led 15-11 after 10 minutes of action
The Greyhounds kept the lead throughout the first half of the second quarter with freshman forward Brielle Guarente making it a 19-16 edge with 5:09 to go. The Mighty Macs moved ahead 25-21 before a lay-up by Yoegel late in the quarter sent the teams to the locker room with Immaculata…
