INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — One day after being named the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for women’s basketball, Kenyon College sophomore Claudia Cooke was tabbed the U.S. Basketball Writers Association NCAA Division III National Player of the Week.

Both of Cooke’s awards were based on her play in the Ladies’ pair of weekend wins over Muskingum University and Earlham College. In those games, Cooke piled up combined statistics that included 37 points, 26 rebounds, seven blocks, six assists and a couple of steals. She recorded double-doubles in each game and shot a combined 68.0 percent (17-of-25) from the field.

In Saturday’s matchup against Muskingum, Cooke played 39 minutes, scored 18 points, registered 12 rebounds and had three assists and three blocks in the Ladies’ 83-77 victory.
